Over the years, my favourite Christmas gifts have been handmade gifts from my children. When they were little ones, they would come home from school with adorable holiday crafts for us - a Nativity scene made with paper characters inside a painted clementine crate, angels made with clothes pegs and paper ornaments with their school photos pasted to them. 

Now that my kids are teenagers, they use money earned at their jobs to buy me candles and chocolates and other goodies. And I love all these gifts, I really do. A parent can't help but miss the personalized, handmade gifts given from tiny hands though. Fortunately my kids are also old enough now to craft personalized holiday gifts with our Cricut Maker. So they (and I) can make a multitude of thoughtful gifts that speak to the interests and characteristics of the gift recipients.

The holiday season is almost here and it certainly can't hurt to get some shopping done right away. We all know how horribly overwhelming it gets when you have a long list of gifts to buy and you have to head to the mall in the crazy busy days before Christmas. (For me personally, it seems that no matter how good my intentions, I end up needing at least a few gifts and stocking stuffers on Christmas Eve.)

With the launch of the latest member of Cricut's EasyPress family of iron-on presses - the adorable Cricut EasyPress Mini - I am now on the hunt for all the tiny things in the house that could benefit from wee bits of iron-on decoration. Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday and it's time now (if we haven't yet) to think about how we are going to celebrate the moms, mothers-in-law, grandmothers and mother figures in our lives. Cards are always a nice way to share sentiments. And homemade cards are even better.

A couple of years ago, my youngest child stopped making Mother's Day cards at school. I have to say I have missed the little homemade crafts and cards the kids used to bring home. But kids who are too old to make crafts at school are old enough to make (more sophisticated) cards with Cricut. And that includes adult children, like me. This year, I made three (easy) homemade Mother's Day cards with my Cricut Explore Air™. You can also use the latest Cricut cutting machine. Cricut does all of the cutting for you (even the envelopes) so all you have to do is glue pieces together! And compose a really great greeting, of course.
