Pear Juice 3 Delicious Ways

Pear Juice 3 Ways

Summer brings an abundance of healthy, delicious fruit, including pears. Recently, I've been juicing pears to make incredible, homemade, tasty pear juice. I often combine pear juices with ginger, cinnamon and other juices. I'm sharing three simple and delicious pear juice recipes with you today. Of course, there are endless other combinations you can make when juicing pears. Try these juice recipes with pears and hopefully be inspired to create your own lovely combinations!

Right now I'm taking advantage of the availability of California Bartlett Pears, which arrive in our stores mid-summer for a short time, several weeks before Canadian pears. California Pears contain antioxidants, and are a good source of fibre, and a source of Vitamin C, potassium and folic acid. When juicing pears, you do lose some of the fibre, but you still get antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
Pear Ginger Juice
For the first pear juice recipe, I simply ran cored, cut California Bartletts through my juicer with a little knob of peeled ginger. Fast and easy and incredibly yummy! This simple pear juice recipe turned out to be my favourite of all. It's so refreshing, with a delicious pear flavour and a kick of heat from the ginger.
Sparkling Pear Cranberry Juice
For the second pear juice recipe, I created a fun, sparkling beverage that is perfect for a summer evening on the patio. I combined pear juices with store-bought carbonated spring water (flavoured with lemon) and a cranberry juice blend. Again, a simple pear juice recipe, but with amazing flavour. (You might even consider turning this one into a cocktail!)
Pear Strawberry Juice
Pear juice also combines beautifully with strawberry juice - the flavours of the two fruits pair in such a tasty way. This third pear juice recipe couldn't be easier to make - simply run cored and cut California Pears through a juicer, along with trimmed, fresh strawberries. The resulting juice has a pretty pink hue.
Pear Juice 3 Ways
I love all three of these pear juicing recipes, but the great thing is you can easily create a juice recipe with pears that suits your personal tastes and preferences. Sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on regular pear juice, or juice pears with vegetables, such as carrots and celery.
Pear Ginger Juice
Juicing pears is also a great way to use up pears that have gotten a bit more soft than you like. When buying pears to eat whole, you can buy greener California Bartletts and allow them to ripen (and become more sweet and juicy!) at home, until they are just how you like them. They will turn a golden yellow colour as they ripen.

California Pears are grown on 60 small family farms, which are leaders in natural pest control and fertilizer reduction. For more information and recipe ideas, visit www.calpear.com
