25 Personalized DIY Holiday Gifts To Make With Cricut Maker or Explore Air 2

Over the years, my favourite Christmas gifts have been handmade gifts from my children. When they were little ones, they would come home from school with adorable holiday crafts for us - a Nativity scene made with paper characters inside a painted clementine crate, angels made with clothes pegs and paper ornaments with their school photos pasted to them.

Now that my kids are teenagers, they use money earned at their jobs to buy me candles and chocolates and other goodies. And I love all these gifts, I really do. A parent can't help but miss the personalized, handmade gifts given from tiny hands though. Fortunately my kids are also old enough now to craft personalized holiday gifts with our Cricut Maker. So they (and I) can make a multitude of thoughtful gifts that speak to the interests and characteristics of the gift recipients.

Make gifts and decor with Cricut

Using the Maker or the Cricut Explore Air 2 and the EasyPress 2 heat press, with materials from vinyl to gold glitter cardstock to holographic iron-on to Infusible Ink, we can craft personalized gifts including mugs, t-shirts, totes, pajamas, mason jars, coasters, stockings, slippers and so much more.

In this previous post, I showed you how easy it is to make a personalized sign with Cricut's new engraving tool and aluminum sheet blanks. I chose to make a "Lou's music room" sign for my husband's little guitar hideaway in the basement. This gift pays tribute to his love of music and his need for alone time, haha.

In order to give you a better idea of the wide range of lovely personalized crafts you can make with Cricut machines, tools and materials, I have gathered together this round-up of 25 of my favourite personalized holiday gift and decor projects, some my own and some from talented blogger friends.

Personalized Gift Bags & Reusable Bags

I sewed this easy personalized drawstring ribbon pocket bag for my daughter with the help of the Cricut Maker for cutting the fabric pieces and pretty mauve iron-on material to add the "L."

Jane and Sonja at Sustain My Craft Habit created this simple yet beautiful reusable Christmas gift bag design with an iron-on Christmas tree pattern. It's so easy to make with the EasyPress 2 portable heat press.

I also adore this cute personalized gift bag by Fawn Handcrafted Celebrations.

Gift Tags

While you are making your own reusable gift bags, why not make your own Christmas gift tags too? Cut the tags with your Cricut cutting machine and cut "25" from vinyl to mark the big day. Or, add a personalized message or the name of the gift recipients to the gift tags.

Signs

You can create a limitless number and variety of signs with Cricut. Check out my She's Crafty DIY chipboard sign, perfect for your crafting friends.

This cute bathroom sign from Sustain My Craft Habit, made using iron-on material on wood scraps, would make a great gift for a new home or cottage owner.

How great is this personalized "letter to Santa" wood sign by Tried and True?

Here's that personalized aluminum "music studio" sign I created for my husband. It can go on a wall inside the music room or on the door (with a Do Not Disturb sign?).

T-Shirts

This personalized t-shirt and koozie for dad by Craft Box Girls would make such a fun gift for a new dad.

I made these Tea+Read t-shirts for my book club friends, but they are great for any book lover.

My lettuce eat plants t-shirt is for the vegan, vegetarian or plant-based eating enthusiast on your list.

Cushions

Sustain My Craft Habit's personalized cushion cover for grandfather, with handprints representing each grandchild, is so sweet and thoughtful.

This farmhouse Christmas pillow by A Piece of Rainbow is simply lovely.

I love each and every one of these holiday pillows from Today's Creative Life too!

Hostess gifts

These gold glitter iron-on Christmas napkins would make for a unique hostess gift.

Gift these sweet bird coasters by Crafting in the Rain to the bird watchers on your holiday shopping list.

The talented women at Sustain My Craft Habit made this lovely felt flower adorned mason jar, which would also be a good teacher gift.

Why not bring a bouquet of pretty paper flowers that will last through the holidays and beyond? Make your gift recipients favourite blooms.

This felt succulent wreath is a hostess gift that will stand out from the rest. Personalize it to match the recipient's decor.

These monogram journals by See Kate Sew are adorned with the recipient's initial for a thoughtful personalized touch.

Countdown to Christmas

Make this personalized Christmas countdown paper tree by Ameroonie Designs for your child(ren).

Stockings

These personalized stockings from Hazel+Gold Designs really say "hung by the chimney with care."

Book Lover's Gift Basket

Can you tell I love books? I'd be thrilled to get this book lover's gift basket from Pretty Providence.

Pajamas

This personalized Christmas Eve box from Artsy Fartsy Mama includes cute pajamas and adorable slippers.

And how cute are these personalized Christmas pajamas by Paula Biggs for Frog Prince Paperie? I want some for myself!
