Raptors 905 Basketball (Ticket Giveaway)

I will spend a good portion of the spring and summer sitting in a folding camp chair watching soccer, at times freezing, at times boiling hot. In the meantime, we are all about basketball (and dance) in this house. My son has a tournament with four to five basketball games this very weekend.

Last weekend we brought the kids and a couple of their friends to a Raptors 905 basketball game. My husband and I thought it would be a great opportunity for our son to see how more seasoned basketball players operate. Raptors 905 is the NBA D-League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors. The team plays out of Mississauga's Hershey Centre.

Assorted Thrifted Plates & Vintage Bliss Tuesdays Linky Party #72

I managed to pop into the Salvation Army thrift store with my son after a school basketball tournament yesterday. I tempted him to come along by suggesting there might be basketball shoes - some barely worn LeBron's for under $10 perhaps? Well, he didn't find any LeBron shoes, but I had enough time while he was searching to browse the racks full of dishes. I didn't find many items that appealed, but I did pick up four more plates for my food photography collection (for 99 cents each).

Insta-Friday in real life

It's Friday and time for a look back at the week using simple cell phone photos. Follow me on Instagram if you like (@ziajojo).

I think we have had all four seasons of weather in the last week or so. We had snow just last Thursday. Then, last Friday, we had icy rain.

The Weekend

We had a very full and happy weekend. In fact, I didn't get around to doing my meal planning post this week because we were so busy. On Friday evening, we left for a basketball tournament in Burlington, Ontario, which is just minutes away from our hometown of Hamilton, where my in-laws live.

We asked them to watch Jolene the dog while we stayed at the hotel with my son's teammates. Of course, Nonna fed us dinner when we dropped off the dog. That can't hurt, can it?

Insta-Friday I'm In Love

Have I told you lately that I love you? Make fun of me if you want (mom), but you guys are awesome. I started this blog to help me appreciate the beauty in each and every day. Even if sometimes I'm grumpy...really grumpy.  I need reminders of how great life is even more on those days.

I wasn't sure anyone would ever actually read my musings. But I'm happy to say I have almost 400 GFC followers now, over 100 Bloglovin' followers and about 16,000 page views a month. I'm no celebrity, sure, but it's kinda cool that people take the time out of their busy schedules to visit my blog. So thanks. A lot.

Insta-Friday in Real Life

Happy Friday! How many of you are going shopping? I'm not sure how long Black Friday has been a tradition in the US, but it just started happening in the last couple of years in Canada. Because we celebrate Thanksgiving in October. Not that I'm complaining. A sale is a sale, and I am a woman, after all.

It's time to share simple cell phone photos from our week. Around here, we have been spending a lot of time at my son's basketball tournaments. His sister is getting used to watching.
