Don't feel like heading out to the store in search of a Father's Day card? I don't blame you. COVID-19 has made in-store shopping stressful. Fortunately, Cricut's portable cutting machine, Cricut Joy, makes creating a homemade Father's Day card fast and easy. In fact, you can make cute, DIY cards for any occasion in minutes using designs that are ready to go in Cricut Design Space (and order all the materials online at Cricut.com).

About My Dad Free Father's Day Printable Keepsake Worksheet
Father's Day is a good time to get cutesy with gifts, cards and activities. This About My Dad free printable definitely falls into the cutesy category. I intentionally designed the activity sheet with very open-ended starter statements because I love the creativity (and wild abandonment) that kids bring to their art and activities. I can just imagine the adorable, amusing sentences they'll come up with.
The other great thing about printable Father's Day crafts, besides the fact that they make lovely gifts, is that they occupy your children for a good period of time. After all, occupying children is

Making Father's Day Cards With Cricut
I posted these Cricut cards for Mother's Day, so you know I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to post about the Father's Day cards I made this year with my Cricut Explore Air. (Updated: You can also make these cards with the Cricut Maker or the Cricut Explore Air 2). I made three cards once again - one for my dad, one for my father-in-law and one for my husband. I tried to find appropriate cards for each one of them using the card designs that are ready to go in Cricut Design Space.

What I Ate Wednesday, Father's Day edition
Happy Wednesday! The kids are in school for just one more day, so I'm busy trying to organize the house. I figure if we start off clean there may be some small hope that I can keep things tidy...for a couple of days anyway. We are holding a family meeting to begin summer vacation, because mama needs to discuss how people need to tidy up after themselves - I think a chores chart may be in order too!
But right now I'm supposed to be discussing food. This plate above represents the Father's Day brunch I put together on Sunday. My husband had his on a tray in bed, and it looked much nicer than this, but this is the plate I sat down with. Vegan blueberry pancakes, scrambled tofu with mushrooms and salsa, Yves veggie sausage, strawberries and peanut butter banana muffins.

What I Ate Wednesday
We have had some crazy weather here these past couple of days. We got our new patio conversation set out on the deck just in time for rain! Oh well, better days ahead. Here's a Wednesday look at some of the foods we've been eating this week, starting with these "Omaha Yakisoba" noodles, made from a recipe in Isa Does It. I rarely make recipes with cabbage (too lazy to shred it) so this took me nicely out of my comfort zone. It features red cabbage, broccoli and corn.

Father's Day 2014 Gift Ideas from DK Books
Men are pretty much impossible to buy for, right? Which makes Father's Day a bit stressful for us daughters/sons/wives. But there are always books to buy - with books on pretty much any topic, there just has to be something to please your husband and/or father.
I picked out two books for my husband from DK Canada's Father's Day boutique. The books in the boutique cover topics such as cooking, sports, sailing and wine. And they are 30% off right now, which is always nice.

Father's Day
Shhh...don't tell my husband about this post. He really doesn't like to be featured on the blog. What can I do? I have to share some Father's Day pics. Like the kids delivering Daddy's breakfast tray, above. He clearly wasn't sleeping, but rather taking some time for his favourite hobby - playing guitar. Notice Jolene the dog on the right. She made some strong attempts at getting the food from the tray.

Gifts for Father's Day (Book Review)
In my Gifts for Mother's Day post, I told you that I always love to get a book as a gift. Fortunately, the same is true for my husband. He loves a good book just as much as I do. It makes for easy gift-giving (and very full bookshelves)!
For this Father's Day, I turned to DK Canada's Dads Rock Boutique. This special boutique offers 30% off a wide selection of titles. There's at least one to appeal to every dad, with books about cars, birds, sailing, photography, wine and even Lego!
Picking for my husband is easy. A quick look at his office bookshelves will tell you that this guy can't get enough history books. Probably because he's a high school history teacher. Go figure.

Weekend Update
We have had such a busy weekend so far. We went to Niagara Falls on Friday for a Ringo Starr show and the exciting Nik Wallenda falls walk.
On our way home yesterday, we visited my sister and her family (and their lovely pool) and had dinner at a Mexican restaurant.
Today meant Father’s Day breakfast in bed for my husband, followed by some gifts.
My sister and I managed to squeeze in some thrift store shopping yesterday. Here is a preview picture of the happy finds I am posting here on the blog tomorrow.
In the meantime, happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there, including my dad, Peter, and my father-in-law, Giuseppe! Love ya!
