Happy Thanksgiving

It's Thanksgiving weekend in this beautiful country of Canada, and I certainly have lots to be thankful for.

My mother-in-law and my sister-in-law are cooking. A big thanks for that! They usually prepare a mix of traditional Canadian Thanksgiving foods with their own special Italian foods. Because I don't eat turkey, the Italian stuff is my favourite!

Kraft Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies in a Hurry

Here's how my family makes the super easy peanut butter cookie recipe from the side of the Kraft peanut butter jar.

One day recently my son woke up and said, "I want to make peanut butter cookies." Okay by me! Who am I to turn down baked goods, especially cookies? (Peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips are my favourite kind of cookie! Or oatmeal raisin. Who am I kidding - most cookies are delicious.)

Do you ever make the super easy peanut butter cookie recipe on the side of the Kraft peanut butter jar? These cookies are true to the "super easy" description, so they are great as a beginner cookie for kids to bake. Plus, these peanut butter cookies are really fast to make and take very few ingredients, so they are handy to whip up if you end up hosting a last-minute playdate, or even a hungry adult visitor.

Peanut butter and chocolate...oh my

Remember on Friday when I was debating whether or not to leave my son playing video games for the day? Well, my conscience won out, and I asked him if he wanted to make cookies with me. He was so excited about it, I was glad I asked.

We decided to make peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.  This recipe is great for kids, because they can run the electric mixer while you add the ingredients.
My husband asked me why I put peanut butter in the chocolate chip cookies. Why not? I have a new-found obsession with the chocolate and peanut butter combination.

It seems I’m not the only one. I find ample inspiration for this combo on Pinterest all the time. Look at my Pinterest “Sweets” board for examples.

I took these pictures at 10:30 in the morning, then promptly ate two cookies and drank the glass of soy milk. It's healthy when you make it yourself, right? Plus, there are oats in this recipe, and you know oats are a breakfast food.
