Simply Delicious Vegan Book Review (Corn Chowder Recipe & Book Giveaway)

Simply Delicious Vegan Book Review

A review of Simply Delicious Vegan, a vegan cookbook by From My Bowl creator Caitlin Shoemaker

I love a new vegan cookbook (and I've got the jam-packed bookshelves to prove it)! Although I adore food and creating my own vegan recipes, I prefer my meals to come together rather quickly. The best vegan cookbooks, in my opinion, boast easy recipes that don't take more than an hour to prepare. (Under 30 minutes of hands-on work is even better!)

The recipes should also be nourishing and call for simple, whole foods ingredients most of the time. Caitlin Shoemaker's Simply Delicious Vegan: 100 Plant-Based Recipes by the creator of From My Bowl* fits the bill, with healthy, unprocessed, plant-based recipes that aren't complicated but aren't boring either. The recipes in Simply Delicious Vegan are also gluten-free, oil-free and free of refined sugars, and suitable for a healthy lifestyle.

You might know Caitlin Shoemaker as the recipe developer and photographer behind the food and lifestyle brand From My Bowl. If not, be sure to visit Caitlin on YouTube to check out her delicious vegan recipes!

Christmas Book Gift Guide 2019 + Starbucks Giveaway

If you are a book lover like I am, my fondest wish for you this holiday season is that you get some time to relax and read a book (or two). Nothing is more calming than curling up with a cup of tea and a great book. No doubt you also have friends and family who like to snuggle in with a book in winter.

Whether for you or those on your last-minute Christmas gift shopping list, I have browsed through many a book catalogue to come up with this selection of recommended books to buy for gifts this holiday season. There are book titles here for food lovers and home cooks (a lot of those because I'm obsessed with food!), decor enthusiasts, Anne of Green Gables fans, musicians and more. Of course there are countless other books to enjoy this Christmas. I suspect that many fans of The Handmaid's Tale will have Margaret Atwood's The Testaments: The Sequel to The Handmaid's Tale on their wish lists, for example.

What I Ate Wednesday and Chloe's Vegan Italian Kitchen (Book Review)

When I took a look back through my food photos this week, I noted that many of them reflected recipes I had made from Chloe's Vegan Italian Kitchen: 150 Pizzas, Pastas, Pestos, Risottos, & Lots of Creamy Italian Classics. So I decided I had better just combine my review of this amazing new cookbook with my What I Ate Wednesday post.

My love affair with Italian food began when I met my husband-to-be back in high school. More specifically, when I met his Italian mother. She introduced me to homemade gnocchi, fresh lasagna, canning of tomatoes and pasta of all shapes and sizes. If eating pasta is wrong, I don't wanna be right!

Margarita Ice Pops (Recipe & Book Review)

Summer isn't over yet...but it soon will be! Let's send it out in style, shall we? These Margarita Ice Pops would make a great addition to an end-of-summer party, served over a bucket of ice. Or, just enjoy one alone on the deck during a late-summer sunset. I shared a family-friendly recipe for Strawberry Peach Green Tea Ice Pops before. These Margarita Ice Pops are decidedly for the adults. With freshly squeezed lime juice, lime zest, tequila and orange liqueur, they're guaranteed to be a treat.
