Corn on the Cob Dishes, A Glasbake Loaf Pan & Vintage Bliss Tuesdays Linky Party #80

corn on the cob dishes #summer

I did a quick bit of thrifting at the Salvation Army Thrift Store yesterday after picking up groceries. Well, it was supposed to be quick, but this one couple in line at the thrift store had about a thousand items and then they also encouraged their friend to cut the line. Not cool.

I was waiting in line to pay for these must-have dishes, haha. With summer approaching, we all need side plates for corn on the cob, no? (My husband gave me a dirty look when I showed him these.) Sure we have nowhere to store them, but I also spotted a nice buffet and hutch at the thrift store. It wasn't quite as tall as I'd like and I thought $150 was a bit pricey, but one day I will find a nice sideboard to paint and distress and then we will have more storage space.

I cannot resist a loaf pan either. I have two, but one of them is non-stick and I avoid using it because I wonder what's leaching from that nasty coating. I thought this vintage Glasbake USA milk glass loaf pan would be prettier in food photos too.

Just look at the lovely rural scene depicted on the side of the Glasbake loaf pan. I will enjoy baking The Best Banana Bread Ever in this loaf pan.

What items are irresistible to you at the thrift shops?

    1. Mine was $3.99 (no tax). I don't find that the cheapest either but I only bought these couple of finds, so it's fine. ;)

  8. I love the loaf pan, we're currently swapping all our non-stick for non-non-stick stuff, just to be safe, glass and enamel pans are prettier too!
