Milk Glass Ice Cream Dishes & Vintage Bliss Tuesdays Linky Party #47

What is it about milk glass that makes it so irresistible? Each time I see a different piece in the thrift store I have to grab it up. I suppose it has something to do with its serene whiteness. Whether vase or bowl, a milk glass piece provides a lovely contrast to colourful flowers, candy or even coins. And then there's the price - generally a buck or two for a small piece. A few quick purchases soon become a collection.

I found these vintage milk glass ice cream dishes at a thrift shop near my mom's place on the weekend. I think they are the perfect way to serve up a summer treat. And I also thought they would be very useful for food photography purposes - in fact I think I need to come up with a new vegan ice cream recipe asap to make good use of these lovely milk glass finds.

Do you collect milk glass?

  1. I think that the milk glass is such a nice compliment to any decor. You can add the color and it is a nice background. I think cherries or strawberries would look awesome in those.
