Gifts for All: SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB S & ACCESSORIES FROM STAPLES

My husband's birthday happens to fall just a couple of weeks before Christmas, which means I have to think of not one, but two major gifts to get for him in December. Gift number one, the birthday gift, was easy. The two of us were previously "sharing" a tablet, but he would often accuse me of hogging it. (I can't deny it - I like to read magazines at night on my tablet.) So he was thrilled to get this
8.4-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S. I have to admit it's super cool and I kinda wish I could keep it for myself. What really makes it stand out from its competitors is the crystal-clear screen and ultra-thin (only 6.6mm), lightweight design. It's very sleek and high-tech looking.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is ideal for watching a movie, reading a magazine, browsing Instagram, reading a book or playing a game. I am not skilled in techno-speak, but apparently what makes the screen look so fab is the Super AMOLED display. It has clearer contrast, more vivid colours and resolution that is twice as good as an HDTV! That last detail is the kind of stuff that's thrilling for the male folk among us, if my husband is any indication.

Technology should make your life easier, which means you don't want your tablet to crap out on you right when the kids have finally gone to bed and you sit down to take a lovely moment to yourself. The Galaxy Tab S has an ultra power savings mode to extend battery life. It also has a cool fingerprint scanner to secure your device. Remote to PC features let you access home or office from anywhere.

Not only does the Galaxy Tab S have 16GB of internal storage memory, but it also has a microSD card slot for more memory. My husband was also impressed with the power of the tablet. It has an octa-core processor, meaning there are eight cores total. My husband says it can handle intense games without lagging. The device also has an 8-megapixel camera on the back, for good-quality photos on the go.

Come Christmastime, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S makes the ideal gift for anybody of any age or sex. It even has a kids mode to ensure that the kiddos only have access to appropriate content. If you really want to impress your gift recipient, pair the tablet with an affordable Staples stylus - it has a smooth rubber tip that makes using the tablet easier and more finger-friendly.

We have also been using a handy TP-LINK 10400mAh Power Bank. To be honest, I didn't know what this was at first. But it turns out that this innocent-looking device is actually a game-changer, given all the devices your average family has to charge nowadays. You can take this power bank on the run with you so you never have to worry about forgetting to charge your phone or tablet before you leave the house. The TP-Link power bank can charge a smartphone three to five times before it has to be re-charged itself. It has dual USB ports too, so you can charge two devices simultaneously, and it charges at high speed. It has a built-in flashlight for those moments when you get in the car and realize you need to charge your phone but you can't really see the slot. (This happens to me.) Plus, four LED lights act as charge indicators to show battery level or charging status. It's compatible with iOS and Android devices.

All in all, this trio of goodies made a better-than-awesome gift for the hubby. Now on to Christmas...

Psssst...the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is on sale right now at Staples!

Who on your shopping list would love a gift like this?

  1. I was watching my movies on Prime and reading in bed on my Kindle Fire and super happy about it, Now I have inherited my husbands iPad and the Netflix are installed here. So I take both to bed now. It's so much better than watching a TV across the room or propping up a heavy book.
