Our Weekend At The Fallsview Casino Resort

Fallsview Casino Resort Hotel
The last few days have been a whirlwind of activity (hence the mini blog break). I am writing now from the regal Omni King Edward Hotel in downtown Toronto, where I am staying for SheBlogs Media's LINK2013 blogger conference. I have my own lovely room, and it's so peaceful I don't even know what to do with myself.

Here are a few photos from our weekend. My husband and I saw Bill Cosby this weekend at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls. Another casino comp earned by my mom.

We stayed at the Fallsview Casino Resort Hotel, as we often do. Sometimes when Mom asks for a cot they give us a suite. This time we actually got a cot. Bummer, but we made do. Not sure what was going on with little miss grumpy face here. We thought things would go smoothly since her brother stayed back home with a friend. But she reserves the right to have difficult moments. I guess we all do.

Here is my sweet niece. I love to see a teen opening up a book whenever she gets a chance.

My mom is absolutely going to kill me for this one. She hates to have to use a cane and she hates to have her photo taken. The combo of both here won't please her. Sorry Mom. But I just think they are a cute little crew.

Did you do anything fun this weekend?

  1. Don't worry Mom, the cane is cancelled out by having the photo taken! It's a lovely photo :) Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

  2. I saw Bill Cosby at a Christmas Party given for Wells Fargo employees about 13 years ago. I had a friend who worked for WF and I was his date! I thought he was hilarious but it was strange hearing the Jello Pudding Pop guy (I didn't watch Cosby much when I was younger, it was all about those JPP!) talk about masturbation! This last weekend was spend being sick but I am looking forward to our trip to Asheville *this* weekend :)

    1. Very cool to see him at a Christmas party! I had forgotten about Jello Pudding Pops. He may have gotten a bit tamer with his content now - compared to other comedians, he was almost saintly. ;) I am sorry to hear you were sick. I hope you are well and have a great trip!

    1. I didn't actually meet him, but we got a very good view in the theatre. :)

I had to look this up because I had never heard of The Robinsons - that's the name they gave The Cosby Show in Italy! Interesting. The family name was the Huxtables here, but they thought it was too hard to pronounce.

  5. I loved the Cosby Show and never missed it! Funny, funny guy. It sounds like a great weekend with the family (less one son). Here's to your wonderful mom who used the cane AND sat for a photo :D My dad uses TWO canes, but won't be caught dead with a walker (which he really should use because he keeps falling with the canes!). If it's any consolation, I actually used a walking stick on hikes this weekend ... and was glad to have it coming down some rough paths. We need to accept these walking aids gracefully, because really, other people just accept that you're using them and don't think twice about it. Have a great week! Wendy

    1. I feel for them (my mom and your dad). I can imagine not wanting to use equipment for the "elderly" because you pretty much always feel like a kid inside. I think a walking stick is a great idea for a hike - works for stray animals too! Have a great week too Wendy!
