Thrifty Things

I am still resisting any further thrift store shopping at the moment. In order to feel that I'm getting my fix, I have been shifting items around in my house to make new vignettes, like the one I showed you last week.

Today's vignette is, like last week's, a combination of sentimental items, newish items and thrifty things. The mixed media artwork ("I Need You") that sits on top of our bedroom dresser was a wedding gift from artsy friends. The tall candle holder and the small pottery vase are thrifted finds. The hurricane lamp was a gift from friends. My husband made the clay mask one time while sitting on the beach.

My husband brought me back this pretty little scene one time when he went to Quebec with his students. I think the smallness of it is one of its most attractive features.

I'm still playing with this vignette. I might like to add some colour and find some way of standing the mask up a bit. What do you think? Any advice?

    1. Thanks Wendy. That's sweet of you to say. :)

I like the candle holder too. It's funny, I wasn't sure about it at first, but it's grown on me!

  4. Looks very pretty! A pop of turquoise or red in there would be nice, but I like the muted palette, too.
