She & Him, three/52
This year, I have been participating in Che and Fidel's 52 Project, sharing one photograph of each of my children on the blog each week. As we are halfway through 2013, Jodi at Che and Fidel has invited us to share our three favourite photos from the year so far.
I am sneaking in the photo from 15/52, above, because it was a rare and beautiful moment of sibling peace and cooperation. Together they decided to make a video with him wearing a banana costume. One of those moments that warms a mother's heart. You can see how much she adores him.
She: In all three of the photos I chose of her, she is looking directly at the camera (at me). I like these pictures because they show a little bit of her personality - she's bold, fun, happy, yet a little bit shy too. And boy she loves her mom. She's my best friend.
Him: It's funny - in all the photos I chose of him, he's not even looking at the camera. This reflects the difference in their personalities. Unlike his sister, he isn't really comfortable being photographed. He's happiest when he's in action - playing with his much-loved cousins, hanging outside in nature or reading a good book. He just turned 11 and it's a time of tremendous change. I want to hold onto these "boy" moments a bit longer.

Thank you dear! :)
DeletePrecious images - your children are beautiful - inside and out. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen. That's kind of you to say. :)
DeleteLove, love them all, especially the banana picture :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie. I love how happy they are in the banana picture. :)
DeleteThe pictures you choose are always great!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill! I appreciate your kind words. :)
DeleteI love this idea! I plan on attempting this next year. As children get older we don't always remember to take pictures like when they were little.
ReplyDeleteEven though my daughter and her friends all take a ton of Instagram pictures,it would be nice to have a few that are not duck face pics.
That's so true. I took SO MANY pictures when they were toddlers, but it will be nice for them to see themselves as kids and later teens too. The challenge now is organizing all my digital photos!
DeleteSo funny, yep, the kids take weird face pics all the time! :)
Great picks of pics :-) I love this challenge you are doing - great way to capture the weekly memories as the small times often slip by!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am enjoying it. They change so quickly at this age. They seem to sprout up taller every couple of months! :)
