Happy Thanksgiving

It's Thanksgiving weekend in this beautiful country of Canada, and I certainly have lots to be thankful for.

My mother-in-law and my sister-in-law are cooking. A big thanks for that! They usually prepare a mix of traditional Canadian Thanksgiving foods with their own special Italian foods. Because I don't eat turkey, the Italian stuff is my favourite!

I have been asked to contribute a dessert. Easy peasy! I much prefer making dessert to cooking.

This weekend, I am most thankful for my family, particularly my two fascinating, unique and sometimes a little crazy kids.

This guy is an expert peanut butter cookie maker. He will be bringing some of his creations to share with his cousins today.

This gal left a trail of belongings all over the house while brother baked.

More stuff.

It wasn't all her though. The boy left his mark.

Of course, Jolene continued to pursue her natural instinct to hunt, as she does during virtually all of her waking hours.

After brother left for basketball practice, the little gal helped me make maple cake with penuche icing.

One benefit of vegan baking: safe bowl licking!

Now, we just have to do the dishes, get dressed and then we're off to enjoy some delicious food.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Licking the bowl/spoon/spatula is my kids favorite part of vegan baking as well :)
