Little Friends

I just couldn’t resist showing you one of my favourite small collections.

My mother gave me these Red Rose tea collectible Wade figurines, which I believe are from the seventies.

Those are my peeps, above.

Here are the animals (although I don’t think Humpty Dumpty quite counts as an animal).

The white doggie was mine growing up (hence the chipped foot).

My mom gave a few to my daughter a while back. She promptly put them in a purse, which she then bounced up and down off the ground while walking along. Yep, those are dead and buried.

Apparently they still distribute new ones now. You can read more about them here.

Do any of you have some of these little friends?

  1. I do! I do! I had about thirty I collected as a child, I wrapped then safely as I got older and stored them away somewhere safe... somewhere so safe that I know have no idea where they are! I'm hoping they show up if my parents ever get round to tidying their loft.Rx

    1. It will be great when they show up! What a treat! My mom always says, "Dear St. Anthony, come around, something's lost and must be found." Or something like that! It usually works! :)

  2. Yes! I have the entire nursury rhymes set, the circus set, and a whole lot of animal ones. Sadly you can only get the figures in the red rose tea thats sold in the US. Whenever I go thrifting I look for them, I have a few larger wade figures too, an elephant as well as a nursury rhyme one.

    1. I would love to see your collection! Sounds awesome. That makes sense that they are only in the US, because I have never noticed them in our stores. Bummer. Strange because I read that they started out in Britain, then Canada before going to the US. So, why are they cutting Canada out now? I will have to look when I am over the border. I wonder, do they only include them at certain times during the year?
