Vintage Bliss Tuesdays Linky Party #16

To tell you the truth, shopping (thrifty or otherwise) is not in line with my January goals. I am continuing to focus on purging excess stuff. At least I will be once I fully recover from whatever virus took me out after Christmas.

As part of the purging process, I'm also thinking about how I can better use the things that I do have. In the coming weeks, I'll be looking at the collections that I enjoy and how I can showcase them better in my home. (That's one of my most prized possessions above - a bookcase that belonged to my grandmother. Another goal I have set for this year is to try to read more of my many books!)

I may also hit a thrift store or two in the next few weeks, but you can be sure I'll be super picky about adding to my mountain of stuff. In the meantime, I hope to continue to enjoy shopping vicariously through those of you who link up to Vintage Bliss Tuesdays! I look forward to seeing how you enrich your collections in this new year.

What treasures are worthy of adding to your collections this year?

  1. Happy New Year Joann. Thank you for Vintage Bliss Tuesdays. Love joining in. Have a great week going through stuff and making decisions. That is what I am doing too - keep, donate, garbage.

  4. Hope you feel better soon. I absolutely love your collection of owls. I have a similar purge ongoing and have steered clear of charity shops for a good 6 months. Initially I had real withdrawal but now I am fully on board with decluttering. Then perhaps I shall go again and add a few different things to my own collections - but I have committed to displaying my treasured finds more effectively too. Good luck with your link party - I hope to join in at some point!! J9 x

    1. Thanks Janine. I'm thankful to be on the mend. I have a bit of an owl addiction. ;) I am mostly decluttering clothing and kids' stuff...maybe some books and magazines. Good luck with your purge! Would love to have you join the party. :) Jo

  6. i am very much of the same mind - purge, simplify and appreciate what treasures we already have. but i will admit to bringing home a little gift for myself the other day - i mean, i did donate five bags worth going in... ;)

  7. NOT MUCH!! My husband and I just made a decision to cut our belonging by about half so its going to be tight in the buying department for us!
