A 3-Tier Folding Tray & Vintage Bliss Tuesdays Linky Party #42

As I am in the third month of my 4-month purge, the thrift store is probably not the best place for me. But I couldn't resist popping into the Salvation Army this past weekend while visiting my parents. Mom came with me and we both admired this 3-tier silver serving tray. Mom said she has one and has enjoyed using it. It is one of the few vintage serving pieces she hasn't yet passed along to me in fact. (I also picked up five of these little Ikea lidded jars. Because I just know they'll come in handy for something. Are you with me?)

I just love the way the three pretty scalloped trays fold out, offering lovely surfaces on which to display sweets or little sandwiches. And then the trays all tuck back up together again, making storage more convenient. (And storage is still at a premium around here for the moment.)

The 3-tier tray was $3, as was just about everything else we admired that day. We joked with the guy behind the counter that the pricing gun was stuck at $3. After that he marked a few of our items down in price.

Do you have a piece like this? Are you addicting to serving dishes like I am?

  1. Jo, I don't think mom has one anymore because while I was unloading my hutch yesterday I have the same one I don't remember if mom gave it to me or if I bought it because I liked it too.
And I also have three of those little jars but mine have white lids, if you figure out what your going to put in them make sure you post it because I have no idea what do with mine they have been empty for the years I have had them

    1. She probably gave it to you and forgot. As for the jars, I thought spices but usually I buy a big bag of spice so it won't fit in the little jar. I'm going to wait and see what needs storing. I'll let you know... ;)

  2. I love your little server. I haven't seen one in ages. I used to find them pretty often. It will be fun to use and easy to store.

  3. I have those jars for my spices! That serving dish is awesome at $3, I'd buy it if I saw it. I love serving dishes like that but don't really entertain to actually serve anything...!
