Mine is one I had when I was younger -- Beach Boys and Supremes Albums. My mom was big into antiques and stuff, and she'd drag me along to all the yard sales when I was a kid. It was something to do. It is weird because they rarely get rid of anything. I hope it turns up one day in their basement. My husband loves The White Stripes. I had forgotten about rock-a-billy. Our teens have records ranging from The Beatles and Tiny Tim to The White Stripes, while I stick to old country, and my husband's collection of rock-a-billy grows weekly. We have the family record player downstairs, but both kids have players in their own rooms. My daughter's is a new version of a portable player, but my son's is old school retro, found at a garage sale for free, and brought back to life. In our house, iPods are for outside of the house use: if we are home, records are the background music of our day!Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05754778263332756663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7132521194361824092.post-64213812644526890622013-02-27T12:27:30.840-05:002013-02-27T12:27:30.840-05:00So true. Like you, I do NOT need another collection. What drives me crazy is how I have had to buy the work of many artists in different medium; records, tapes, CD's and I am a bit embarrassed to say, I haven't gotten into the download craze. It would be cheaper and fun, I'm sure. I do miss albums and I wonder if we will look back and regret some great music that was lost. Most people just move on and can't be bothered with records, though, there are those who claim you can't beat the sound quality.suzieQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04883115039145453043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7132521194361824092.post-7818628259931213562013-02-26T14:32:49.360-05:002013-02-26T14:32:49.360-05:00That sounds like fun, Laura! That sounds like fun, Laura!JoKnowshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10282621916141807042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7132521194361824092.post-39109248760292212262013-02-26T13:59:00.232-05:002013-02-26T13:59:00.232-05:00TONS of good records over here! I originally planned to NEVER part with them or my record player. Then on moving day as I was moving to a new city and the house I now live in I got tired and disgusted which lead to me putting it all in my car and donating it all to the Salvation Army store. It felt good to unload it all at the time. Fast forward to a few days later when in a panic I went back to where I donated my record player and vinyl music to buy it all back. It was all GONE. This happened almost ten years ago and as I look back I am glad that I gave it all away. I do miss it sometimes, but I had so much of it took up huge amounts of space. I have been replacing those songs of yesteryear by downloading them as mp3 files. Amazon has an extensive collection of music. So I have them on my computer and a flash drive. I grew up on what is now called Classic Soul music from Motown and other labels. I never liked rock music. I also love easy listening music by Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Tony Bennett, etc, etc. I like some pop music by artists like The Captain & Tenille, The Carpenters, etc. Collar City Brownstonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15263975908686070121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7132521194361824092.post-8989311423415215412013-02-26T09:33:00.815-05:002013-02-26T09:33:00.815-05:00What a shame you lost your albums Wendy.
