Clearly I don't have a photography studio. But I do have a table by a big window in our walkout basement. You can read more about this table in a previous post. My dad gave it to me - it has a lot of history and I enjoy using it to set up many of my photos for Vintage Bliss Tuesdays as well as my recipe shots.
Our basement, much to my husband's chagrin, is home to (literally) hundreds of items that the kids and I no longer want to keep upstairs but are unwilling to throw out. Like my childhood Fisher Price School Days desk. I just think it's so adorable. My "photography studio" also acts as a base for crafts, art activities, reading and whatever else the family gets up to (constructing guitar pedals in my husband's case).
Hubby built two big bookshelves to house all (or should I say most) of our albums and dvds and a small portion of our book collection. (The VHS tapes are housed elsewhere, because you know how they come in so handy, ha ha.)
I keep hoping to weed out all the unneeded toys, books and clothes one day so we can easily access all the good stuff that's still useful. One day. In the meantime, there will be more life lived at this beaten-up, scratched and well-loved table.

DeleteHa our basement was half finished last year. The finished half has our board games. The unfinished half? The summer patio cushions, my collection of vases and every piece of house repair/updaty tool and supply we don't need but I buy anyway.

DeleteNo basements here, unfortunately not a done thing in this part of the world! I loooooove basements, when I went to the US a long time ago the basements always blew me away. I decided if I ever won the lottery and wanted to build a home from scratch it would have a big basement level and we could live there in the summer :)
ReplyDeleteYou have many other things that make up for basements! Like the lack of snow!! ;) Basements are nice and cool in the summer though (well, cooler than upstairs anyway), so your dream home basement sounds like a good idea!

Deleteour basement used to look like that an we slowly thinning it out-I just donated ALL my records (except Christmas records) and even though there weren't a LOT of them they just sort of never had a home so off they went!
