Thrifty Finds - Basket Sale Goodies

This week's thrifty finds aren't actually from a thrift store. But they are thrifty in that they usually go for more money in decor stores. Each year in June, I attend Bacon Basketware's warehouse sale to buy a few (or a lot) of baskets and other decor items.

There are very few shopping carts to be had and long (long!) lines to check out, but I would not miss this sale. I have more baskets than any one woman should have, but I always feel like I can find some use for another one. The basket sale always occurs right around my sister's birthday too, so I tend to pick up a few fun items for her.

My owl obsession continues. This little guy is going to go out on my deck (on those days when the weather is nice and will treat him well).

This pretty hook was $5. I'm not sure where I'm going to use it and I have the distinct feeling that I should have bought three of them. But I always find so many great items, so I cheaped out and only bought one.

Not sure where this burlap-covered bottle with French handwriting is going to go. I just liked it. So I bought it. That's how I do it.

This Bon Appetit tray, on the other hand, has a clear purpose. I have already used it to carry beverages and treats out to the deck.

I love this large basket with a hinged lid ($15). It's quite huge. I haven't established a use for it yet, so I simply slid it under my square coffee table for now. I could put a blanket or two in it come winter maybe. Other ideas?

How about you? Are you a basket collector too?

  7. Great finds!! That basket would probably end up housing books in my house… We have book overflow problems.

    1. Thanks Ruthie! Right after I read your comment I went and filled it with books..."for now"... ha, ha. I need to clear some room on my shelves so I can eventually take them out of the basket. ;)
