Somaluxe Facial Care (Review)

I tried out two products from Lady Soma's Somaluxe line recently. These products are 100% vegan friendly and contain active plant ingredients, essential oils and certified organic ingredients. Somaluxe products never contain nasty parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, chemical sunscreen, fragrances or synthetic dyes. And the products and their ingredients are not tested on animals. They are targeted to work for all skin types and allergy tested. Lady Soma says they are safe for pregnant and nursing mothers too. Safe for humans and kind to our animal friends - those are my favourite kind of products. But do they work?

The Somaluxe face cleanser is a clear, thick formulation. You don't need much product, so one bottle will last a long time. The cleanser has a pleasant, natural scent. It contains Vitamin C, tea tree oil and aloe vera, but I wouldn't say it smells like any one of those in particular. As promised on the packaging, Somaluxe face cleanser is both thorough and gentle. It lathers up nicely and feels like it gives a good clean without stripping all the oils from your skin. It will remove eye makeup too, however I found I had to take care not to get it in my eyes, as it does sting.

Lady Soma says the ingredients in the cleanser are designed to stay active even after rinsing. Rosehip oil balances the skin, while aloe vera calms the skin. They note that amino acids and hyaluronic acid even skin tone, remove age spots and brown spots and reveal a fresh smooth complexion. The cleanser contains a high concentration of antioxidants and amino acids.

Facial cleansers are very personal, so it's hard to recommend one for someone else. But, unless you want entirely scent-free, I would give Somaluxe face cleanser a try. I don't like milky cleansers because I don't feel like I'm getting a good clean. I like a bit of a bubble, so this cleanser works well for me.

Somaluxe's moisturizer also has a light, pleasant, natural scent. It's not really thick or really thin. It's sort of a "middle" thickness, which means that it absorbs quickly, but still leaves the feeling of a moisture barrier on your skin. This is a good, everyday moisturizer, which you could use in conjunction with a foundation containing sunscreen. Lady Soma says its moisturizer is rich in vitamins A, B, C, D and E and infuses deep moisture for fighting wrinkles and maintaining healthy skin.

The Somaluxe line also includes stretch mark treatments, however my stretch marks are too old and settled to be treated now, I'm afraid. Get those stretch marks right when you are pregnant, ladies!

Visit Somaluxe online to buy or for more information. The products were half-price last time I looked. Not sure how long that's going to last, but it's a good time to try them.
