Thrifting Sisters - part five

Last week, I showed you the Wedgwood Blue Heritage plates and the Pier 1 Kui Hua bowls I bought while thrifting with my sister recently.

On that same Salvation Army visit, I found a few items that I thought were lovely for fall. I adore pottery, and I couldn't resist this jam pot, above. This is one piece that didn't cause me to speculate on what it's used for!

My sister found this leafy trivet for me. She let me buy it and then made several efforts to get it back. To no avail. I'm greedy like that. It was only 99 cents! The woman at the shop said it was priced wrong. Oh well.

She also found these little hanging baskets. Again, she let me buy them and then questioned her decision. These baskets are lined with plastic, making them great little planters, but I want to find an alternative use for them. Any suggestions?

  2. I'm in love with the baskets. There are so many things you can do with them.
*hang one over my nightstand table to keep lotion, notepads, etc.
*hang one on the front door and fill with bittersweet/leafy branches instead of a wreath
*hang them in the pantry or kitchen to store onions and potatoes
*use one to store remote controls

  6. Great stuff! I would probably put those baskets in a guest bedroom/bathroom with samples (from hotels) of soap, lotions, shampoo etc... I usually due this when we have visitors coming to stay.
