Vinyl Love

Just when you think you have one of your clutter problems under control...

My husband built a whole bookshelf dedicated to movies and vinyl records. He painstakingly alphabetized the movies and then the records. Everything fit, with just enough wiggle room to get your fingers in between the albums. Life was good.

And then we visited my parents again and this happened...

We found lots of vintage vinyl albums that look just right for warm weather partying.

Slightly creepy.

Looks like my parents knew how to have a good time.

Now I just want a portable record player to take these babies out on the deck. And maybe another shelf.

What's your favourite album of all time?

If you have a moment, check out my new Thrifty Finds page. I have collected some of my past thrifty posts in one convenient spot. You can get to it from the link at the top of the blog. I wonder can you even notice the page links so high up there?

  1. Music to watch girls by... funny for a second ten yes, slightly creepy!

I will always have a soft spot for my first album: 1981 Hot Hits. It was one of those compilations. We have no room for a record player and my parents have long since disconnected theirs. I keep thinking that maybe, just maybe I can fit it in my house somewhere then realise we'd have to get rid of the couch or something...

  4. Lovely to see your finds.

I am a vinyl junkie too! It just sounds warmer and more characterful. I'm thinking of getting an Expedit shelving unit from Ikea to store my vinyl records.

  5. Looks to me like some amazing listening times are ahead! Like Jill (above) my first album was also David Cassidy! Such catchy tunes ;) It would be hard to choose an all-time favourite, although I did & still do love Pink Floyd 'Dark Side of the Moon', which I first listened to in a cabin at my girlfriend's cottage ... we gave ourselves night terrors listening to it in the deep dark woods!

  6. Awesome collection! My Dad's collection is insane! He has some that are in mint condition and never been opened! (those are Beatles in vinyl). He also has alot of Frank Sinatra, Bee Gees, Beach Boys, Temptations, Patsy Cline etc. I mean the list goes on and on. Ill have to do a post of my own on his extensive collection & let him see yours. Great Post!
