Insta-Friday in real life

It's Friday and time for a look back at the week using simple cell phone photos. Follow me on Instagram if you like (@ziajojo).

I think we have had all four seasons of weather in the last week or so. We had snow just last Thursday. Then, last Friday, we had icy rain.

Friday was half price on everything green day at the local Salvation Army thrift store and I practically had the place to myself.

Probably because of the rain. I don't mind a little rain if it means no line-ups.

Here's my girl wearing her half-price Joe Fresh army jacket ($4).

Come Saturday, we had our sushi party with the boys and then paired off so we girls could watch Gilmore girls while the boys played video games or something like that.

On Sunday, I debated whether or not to catch up on my magazines or head into Toronto to visit Bunner's vegan, gluten-free bakery. I decided on the bakery, but the family complained so much I gave up on that idea and stayed home.

My son stayed home for the morning on Wednesday so I could take him to the dentist. It meant I had company for my morning walk with Jolene. I enjoy hearing and seeing the Canada geese this time of year. This goose, above, didn't enjoy Jolene lunging at it so much though.

Yesterday, it was warm. It felt wonderful after months of cold. I played 21 with my son in the park. Not surprisingly, I lost, 6 to 21. And my shoulders hurt today. I really, really need to get out and exercise more.

We are back to rain today, with a lot of wind. There are some shingles on the front lawn which may or may not be from our roof. I'm hoping not, but I'm thinking probably.

The kids are home for a PA Day and we did a lesson on pond life this morning. Even though they go to public school, I'm introducing some fun lessons at home that allow them to direct their own learning and explore aspects of the lesson that interest them. I really want them to develop a love of learning. Our first lesson went very well and I'll be posting about it soon.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Maybe I'll convince the family to make that visit to Bunner's Bakery.

What are you planning for the weekend?

  2. I can't believe your family complained about a trip to a BAKERY! ;) We're "enjoying" the all-four-seasons-in-one-week phenomenon here, too...though we've managed to avoid ice so far. I ran both my central a/c and my furnace in the same day earlier this week!

  9. Your new look IS lovely, and engaging. Perfect for welcoming spring! I enjoyed the glance through your week... I love your daughter's contented expression. She appears to love whoever is taking her pics.

Out for errands today, I stopped first at a favorite second hand store. Frittered away 45 minutes, searching and deliberating, and then carefully, carefully choosing my favorites. Went to check out and realized I didn't have my wallet. And there were lines...and a little rain (and yikes, police lights on the way home..thankfully not for me). Oh well. My hair is trimmed... (:

Hope you find time this weekend for the bakery and the magazines! Lynaea @ EveryDayBloom.com

    1. Thanks Lynaea! I'm so glad you like the new look. I have to feel spring somewhere even if it's still snowing outside!! :(

Yes, I take my daughter's picture and she shows me lots of love. :)

Oh what a shame you chose so carefully and then didn't have your wallet!

      I've done the bakery...tomorrow the magazines. :)

      Take care,

      Jo
