Think Pink

On Saturday, I took my daughter to buy much-needed new tap shoes. She has grown a lot lately!

Shoes bought, I asked her to accompany me to the Salvation Army thrift store. We were pleased to see that it was a sale day...half price on anything with pink, red or white on it.

I just happen to love pink dishes anyway. I chose this small Royal York "Sweetheart Rose" plate.

And this yellow and pink floral-patterned China Garden plate.

This one's my favourite, although for some reason I almost didn't buy it. It has a crackled effect that you can't really see in the photo. My daughter held it up and said, "I'm coming home with you," on behalf of the horse. Okay. There's some pink on it, so it was half price - 25 cents. It was made by M.A. Hadley American Pottery.

This isn't vintage, but I like this little dessert stand. It matches a set of dessert plates I got at the grocery store a few years ago.

My daughter also insisted we buy this sweet vase. It is Lungarotti Torgiano Italian pottery. For $1. Can't beat that.

Of course, my daughter also insisted on buying a pink rose pen. It doesn't work. Surprise. I'll be stepping on it when it's discarded on the floor in a couple of days. But how can you resist that face?

She walked away with this vintage scarf for 50 cents too.

We got a few pieces of clothing. This floral blouse that she can wear if spring ever arrives.

Summer seems a long way off, but this tank top is so cute we'll hang onto it.

We got some goodies that aren't pink too. That's for another time...

How about you? Are you a fan of pink? I never thought I was in my goth-like teen years, but I'm loving pink now.

  16. What is your little girl's name? Our darling princess grand daughter is named Aurora and we call her Rory because she's a Big Rory. So awesome that your girl goes to thrift stores! She's one of us!

    1. I love that name! I'm just calling her that because of Rory on the show Gilmore Girls. But, if I had a third child, I was going to call him Rory if it was a boy after the Big Rorys. I see Rory used for girls and boys. I like the nod to our heritage. :)
